Dr. Kelly K McCann is an MD with triple board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Integrative Holistic Medicine. Her patient-care model includes the best of conventional allopathic approaches blending with complementary and alternative medicines, which together address the biological, environmental, social, and psychological aspects of health.

This patient-centered functional approach emphasizes the overall body, mind and spirit connection with practices including diet and nutrition counseling, stress reduction, eliminating allergens, evaluating environment toxins, exercise programs, acupuncture, and meditation techniques. Dr. McCann passionately pursues a practice of appropriate intervention and treatment as well as preventive medicine and supports her patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle and attitude.

Dr. McCann's private medical practice is located in Costa Mesa, California which serves Orange County including Newport Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, and Alisa Viejo. She provides patients primary care, consultations, and lifestyle evaluations. Dr. McCann is also on medical staff at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California.

While some physicians are now adopting to more natural and alternative approaches to medicine, Dr. McCann is highly distinguished as having completed a two year residential fellowship in integrative medicine and has been training extensively since 1997 in more natural and preventative modalities.

Functional Medicine Specialist

Dr. McCann is a functional medicine practitioner and specialist, having trained with the Institute of Functional Medicine which is Chaired by Dr. Mark Hyman, author of The UltraMind Solution. She offers a healthy alternative to those actively looking at their health in natural ways, wanting to identify and heal the underlying imbalances in their lives that lead to chronic health problems. Operating her own private practice, she is able to offer a high level of individual attention to support examining lifestyle choices and developing healthy patterns of behavior.

Distinguished Integrative Medicine Fellow

Dr. McCann also practiced medicine at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine where she worked and trained with renowned Andrew Weil, M.D., as one of 35 distinguished fellows in residence throughout the world. Dr. Weil, a Harvard-trained physician and director of the center, pioneered the now rapidly growing field of integrative medicine. He has been on the cover of Time magazine twice, interviewed by Oprah and is the best-selling author of such books as Spontaneous Healing, Healthy Aging and 8 Weeks to Optimum Health.

Dr. McCann received a B.A. in Music from Brown University and a Master’s in Library Science from University at Albany. She went on to medical school to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) and simultaneously earned a Masters in Public Health (MPH) and Tropical Medicine (TM) at Tulane University in New Orleans. Afterward, she moved to Arizona and completed two medical residencies. One in Internal Medicine at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and the other in Pediatrics at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

As an avid lifelong learner, Dr. McCann recently completed her third Masters degree in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. She is currently completing a fellowship in Environmental Medicine and training for a teaching certificate in yoga.
